Springs On Stage provides free promotion for plays and musicals. As part of our mission, we publish a new review every Tuesday. The following guidelines help us decide which shows to cover.

We only review local theatre: Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs and Monument.

Our reviewers attend live shows, not rehearsals.

We always pay for tickets.

We do NOT review stand-up comedy, improv or concerts.

We do NOT review one-night-only performances or festivals. (We can’t promise to cover any show with a run less than two weekends.)

We do NOT review works in progress or staged readings.

We do NOT review plays or musicals staged by schools. We will, however, promote them upon request.

We do review plays or musicals staged by churches, as long as the performance is advertised to the general public.

We promote, but do not publish, reviews by other sources.

When multiple shows debut in the same week, we prioritize…
…small venues before large ones;
…adult works before children’s theatre;
…short runs before extended runs.

Finally, we believe that every show that makes it to opening night deserves an audience.
